I'm not going to jump on the bash Bush bandwagon (oh look...alliteration) 'cause that seems to be the favorite pastime right now. I will say he's done some things in the past 8 years that I'm not happy about ... but I'll save that for a political blog.
No, when I watch that video I chuckle a little bit. Not because of what Bush said, the fact is what he said in his very first sentence was absolutely correct. The problem is that while intellectually correct, the president needs to be able to communicate with the layman. Sovereignty is a very broad concept; the leader of the free world needs to be able to explain that relatively smoothly to a group of layman who otherwise don't get the concept. You can't just assume everyone has an 8th grade education. (Yes, sovereign is a Junior High vocab. word IMHO.)
Even funnier is the "OB/GYN" clip where W proclaims that OBs can't "practice their love with women" and the CNN anchor loses it while trying to comment...very, very funny...
Great laugh. Thanks for posting it here! I had never seen this before but can't say it surprises me much. I might have to play this on my radio show :D
