Sign Out...and SHUT OFF!?

I am soooo excited to have found the blogging world but have done nothing but surf it for the last few days! I've found some AMAZING sights, but that may be my problem. I stay up WAY TOO LATE connecting to everyone's blogs!! I don't have the ability to shut my brain down and go to sleep!? Even as I was laying in bed at 4am I was thinking about stories I wanted to write and stories I'd read throughout the evening. Maybe this is me becoming a writer.

Here is the question:

What are some methods that you use to shut off and go to sleep?

Need all the help I can get! :)

I know exactly what you mean! I'm so addicted to reading blogs, some days I don't get anything done. I have to set a timer some days, so that when it goes off I remember all the other things I need to do in my day! (Oh, and have you discovered Blog Explosion yet? http://www.blogexplosion.com/index.php?ref=kabiel Very addicting! :)

I actually shut off my brain by watching tv at night. I turn it down low and set the timer so it will shut off. Otherwise my brain goes into over-drive and I keep myself awake thinking. Either that or I read until my eyes just won't stay open.

sign off? that is a concept i have yet to learn...

welcome to the wonderful world of blogging!

since you are new, can i suggest it is not a good idea to put where you live on your blog? be careful what you post so that you can protect your privacy...

people inadvertently leave put too much identifying personal info on their blogs, so please be careful as you mature with you blog.

take care

visit that site and test some variable that someone might learn from your blog... if you ever let you last name slip, it would not be good, especially if they knew your age and your city.

just be careful... and make sure you use an email account that doesn't give your last name when you send someone you met on the blog an email...

always be careful. if you think i am paranoid, just watch the news. i am going to read your blog some more late. i like what i have read and would like to link you on my blog if that is ok with you...

take care!

and toss in a recipe for the cook off challenge!

the wonderful thing about blogging is that you can share who you are without revealing who you are... but it is a commodity all too easily lost.

have fun!!!

but be safe...

and take care!

woo hoo! you are doing good, jen...

i am planning a post later tonight/early tomorrow to discuss privacy and security issues related to blogging. it has been bothering me.

blogging is so EASY to do that a lot of times people forget that there are evil people in this world who would do harm to those they can corner...

my intention was not to scare or frighten you but to help ensure that your walk with Christ isn't spoiled by some sicko who would use what they learn about you on your own blog to hurt you.

take care and see 'ya around the neighborhood...

Iron Chef is right. Choose a pseudonym for yourself such as “Rose Bush” or “Frank N. Stein.” As for a wonderful way to pry myself away from the world of blogs, I usually double-check my blog for spelling or grammatical errors and then realize how truly boring I am. Thus, the boredom lulls me into a deep sleep.

To cut down on "blog catch-up time", for sure set up an account for yourself at bloglines.com.

Then you can add all of the blogs you want to keep track of into your bloglines list (I have about 25 that I keep track of).

Every morning, I log into my Bloglines account and it shows me which blogs have been updated (which saves me all the time of checking each of my bookmarked blogs to see if any of them have been udpated).

That has helped me cut down on my online time. It is Summer, after all. Make sure you get outside once in a while!
