It's here!!! It's here!!! It's finally here!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and it's all mine!

Here's how it happened:

We went out after work to blow some time before the midnight release......

Girlfriends failed to tell me that a change of clothes would be necesario. 'Tis the reason I am "dog-doo" and they are Rock Stars. But, please, back to Harry...

After drinks we headed for Barnes & Noble.

We did NOT consider the lines!!!!

Upon arrival, everyone was given a wrist band. The yellow wrist-bands were for the people that "reserved" their copies, and the orange wrist-bands were for the people that did not. Also on these wrist bands was a number that indicated your place in the particular lines.

My friends were smart and reserved copies. However, so did most people. By the time they got their wrist bands, they were already at 714 and 715.

We hopped in line near Linens and Things. (Barnes and Nobles is the second to last sign on the strip.)

I did NOT reserve a copy. Here was my place in line for the SECOND HEAT:

I will now tell you that I was the 716th person to purchase my book. **guilt** **ok, it's gone**

After we bought our little treasures, we sported our free glasses in a picture with "the fat lady."

Then, after we waited, I got wind that Wal-Mart was selling copies for only 19 and change with NO line. But, here is news to you!

I am a MEMBER...............................and here is what i payed!

Did you get THIS gift with purchase!!???

It's a wrist band thing...if you couldn't tell.

Ok, Harry awaits! Glad you could join me. :)

I would not be caught dead in a line to purchase a harry potter book so I am happy to have been taken on the adventure via the internet!

I saw the lines here in Tampa on the news last night but they did not mention all the interesting details about the two different wrist bands and the glasses and the rubber wrist band thingy.

Thank you for taking us along, as I say I would not have gone except as an invisible guest.

You harry potter lemmings, what is to become of you all.

Billy- ugughhooooohh **stab!** lol...have you read ANY of the Harry Potters?? I was doubtful, too! But they are so wonderfully written! She's a great story teller. YOU MUSSSSTTT REEEEAAAAADD HARRYYYYY....**eyes twirling hypnotically** lol I am not sure what will become of us. :)

blackops- It was getting rediculous how much I was spending there, so I finally sprung for a card. Very worth it. :)

Midwest Hick- Good for you! :) lol

RCM- I believe it will be! :)

PS It was so cute...there were several young people sitting outside reading their books. They just couldn't wait.

It's was funny.....my husband & I had a "date night" last night. We went to dinner & (thought) we would enjoy a quiet evening at Barnes & Noble. Boy, we were wrong! We totally forgot that the book was coming out but I am sure we will own it soon!

I saw them at Walmart today for $14 . I will have to wait for the paperback though, because hardcovers that size are too heavy for me to hold comfortably. I may have to stay away from Blogland for a year so that no one spoils the secrets for me!!!

And you look adorable, not the least bit like dog-doo!

Enjoy it - hope it's worth the long wait in line. Me, I'll pass... not my thing.

Are you sportin' your new green bracelet band today?

Harry doesn't do it for me either, but then again neither did The DaVinci Code! I am more of a Lemony Snicket kinda gal. Love the humor in those books, which is what I find lacking in HP.

My daughter loves HP though and she works at Waldenbooks. She got to man the Activity Table last night for the big rush. She said it was really, really fun! (Their store only got 160 customers, but many of them bought multiple copies and bought the $60 special edition!)

Once of these days HG, I plan to sit down and read all the books. My housemate has got 'em all and tells me they are very good.

I want to wait for the paperback. Of course by the time that comes out, I will know everything that happened in the book because no one can keep their mouths shut. I want to read it. Why am I so damn cheap?

Forget Harry Potter and the line. Am I the only one who noticed how cute you girls look in the pix?

What an unbelievable line!!!!

We had about just over 250 pre-orders at our B&N, and we were at the head of the line for the orange wristbands. Got out of there about 12:40a.

I thought the line went considerably fast considering they sold 250+ books in 35 minutes or so.

Okay, I'm jealous. Sure I purchased my copy at Walmart with a cheap price and zero lines, but I want a wrist band! It looks so cute! Lucky you. =)
Cute pictures too. Sounds like you had a whole Harry Potter experience. =D
Thanks for stopping by. I love this blog. Nice to see another God-loving Harry Potter fan on the net.
Take care!

Haha, sucker... I pre-ordered it on Amazon (see my latest post) and got TWO copies for $16.99!

Oh! I read it into the depths of the night, and I am in deep mourning. All Potter fans ought to come together and have some kind of funeral...

Man, this reminds me of my friend Amanda. I'll bet that she talked her poor husband into going down and fighting for a copy.

I worked at a book store that night. It was pretty sad actually. Especially since I was able to find stacks of the books the next morning at a local rest stop's gift shop a few miles from my home.

By the way, you are far from "dog doo", you are low maintenance, and they are hight. I think most guys (myself included) would rather be around a girl like you than them.

Oh yeah baby..the wrist band tops Wal Mart!

Leesa said...

Wow, that amazes me that many people would be in line at a bookstore at night. Wild!

Sounds like a blast! Congrats on snagging your copy!

I had mine mailed to me. THANK GOD! I couldn't have handled the lines. Have you finished it yet? I LOVED it. My favorite so far.
