FOR ALL MY READERS!! :)

For those of you that don't know, I'm starting a reading group. :) Nothing too formal, just a group of friends that read and talk about the same book. I want to read something to kick start the fall but have trouble committing to ANYTHING without someone to do it with.

THanks for all your great feedback. I'm really getting anxious to get the ball rolling, but first we have to decide on a book!!

Most people seem to be interested in "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. I love this book and would be happy to read it again.

Here are some other suggestions:

"The Road to Reality" by K.P. Yohannan

"The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman

"The Dream Giver" by Bruce Wilkinson

"If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat" by John Ortberg

"The Man Who Was Thursday" by GK Chesterson

"Til We Have Faces" by C.S. Lewis

I, personally, want to start with something "devotional." BUT, I'm a game for whatever you decide. Plus, I already have a copy of "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. : D

Let me know what you think!?

Any more suggestions?

Ya'll can e-mail me anytime at humorgirl@myway.com if you have any questions or comments! :)

Hey Girl... this is such a great idea! Like I mentioned before we are on day 14 of the purpise driven life and have veered a little off track (shamefully admitting) But I would love to do the book together (The purpose driven life) as well if you would like? I know the hubby and I wouldn't mind starting from day 1 and doing it all together. Let me know. :o)

I've never been in a reading group. It always sounds like fun. And I'm sure it will be.

A book club sounds like fun, but I'm not sure about the type of reading material. Then again, I guess it could surprise me.

I'll be too busy my first semester in school but I'm down for the Spring semester. Count me in then!

If you are looking for something more devotional try one of the ladies study group books. Perhaps "God's Portrait of a Beautiful Woman". I have done it twice and learned major things about myself both times.

Heavy duty book list you have there.

I would personally prefer NOT to do a woman's focused bible study seeing as though I'm not a...umm...woman.

HG- I have a couple of ideas for the group, I'll email them to you. Also, when are you on IM? I'm on from 8am till 5pm every weekday. Hopefully I can just catch you on there.
