Another Day...

SO...MUCh...Reading.....

I haven't had this much reading.....well......EVER!

I'm so swamped and it's perfect timing. I spent all summer trying to find great, fun books to read and now that I have NO TIME for myself, I find 2! THey yell to me from the bookshelf...

Don't read that! Read me! :) They say about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.....

What about us? We're the ones with the clever, eye-candy covers?! Gosh, they're right!? WHere is the beautiful make-me-happy-jacket? The Foundation of American Education has got this all wrong:
Sigh....I'm sorry my poor darling chic-lits. You'll just have to wait. : /

Now,about my International Human RIghts class. I'm not exactly sure how this is going to work out. I started the first book called"Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Accounts" It's about the Nazi concentration camps.......

May, 1944. Inside each of the locked cattle cars ninety people were jammed. The stench of the urinal buckets, which were so full they overflowed, made the air unbreathable......"

That's how Chapter 1 begins and it only gets more tragic and horrible. You can click on the link to see the inside of the book.

I want laughs and love...not death and despair. :(

I have to admit... I find books on the Holocaust extreamly interesting. What a sick, sick, vile thing that happened and yet, I read anything I can about it. I might have to pick up this book.

But I do feel sorry that you have no chick-lit to get you through. That is rather tragic.

You asked on my blog about "The Tiara Club". I really enjoyed the book. It's very southern, and I recognized a lot of things that I see every day. Definitely a fun read.

Ah, yes. I remember it well: spending the majority of my non-class time reading 300+ pages a night.
God has a great sense of humor, too. The two classes that I hated the most, Corporate Financial Reporting (an MBA Finance class) and Financial Management (an MBA Accounting class), are the two books that I could not resell to get a % of my money back because the school was buying new editions. So, now I'm stuck staring at those books on my bookshelves. (I cannot bear to throw away a book).

Ugh... yuck for you. :( I just rented some documentary about the concentration camps - (I just looked up on Netflix to see what it is called) - I am David. It was soooooooooo sad ... but really good.

They need to make all textbooks have stories, tell us all the info, but make it in novel format so we might actually be interested... that would rock.

I love reading history type books on events like this and others but it is very depressing when any book starts out that way. Have you seen Shindler's List?
